HAVING a webinar that converts is awesome… no doubt.

But MAKING webinars is a pain.

If you’ve ever tried to put one together and you didn’t quite hit that “gagillion bazillion” homerun you were expecting then join the club.

- you have to be talking about a product people want (webinars don’t change that)

- you have to know how to sell (aka copywriting… the skill that pays but is SOOO hard to master)

- you have to know how to “close” (asking for the mooolah is where most webinars go off the tracks)

Miss any one of those by just a little bit and you get a webinar that’s more “meh” than “Mama Mia!”

I’ll skip to the punch line…

hey its been a while, and I was
jammin on my Brice 6 string active
bass guitar, and it was ringing out
some nice chordal jams...

it has some great harmonics too...

i tried to conjure up some of that
jimi page vibe on the no quarter
dvd, i really dig that droning
celtic flavor that jimi does so
effortlessly...

hope you dig the organic sounds

I found this beat, and I thought it
was cool...

did the bassline, and it ended up
in E/F# because of the 6 string being
so low...

So I rolled with that, and did
a decending arpeggio, and then

some wierd little melodies on
top...was intrigued by the
pulloffs that E/F# facilitate...

I like the bass tone...

I'm getting deeper into the software, and as I
get new chops, my music is twisting and evolving...

The cool thing about it is, that I'm beyond gone
from the old school blues that I love, and that
is what I'm loving about the V-20...

I like it now that I mastered the setting of the
tempo, because I can kinda get the groove just
listening to the drums, and tweaking the tempo
to match my guitar riffs...

ok, on this one, the whole point of the experiment
was to use the vocal software that comes with the
v-20 editor...

it's very powerful, and i'm easily sounding like
a chourus of voices, and you can choose gender,
and keys, and pitch divisions, its super wack.

also doubled the vox, and put a phaser with a
left pan on it, to get the 'folding over' effect on
the vocals

whats really cool is it sounds nothing like my
normal squawky voice...

and i easily created a bed of phased out guitars
that sound like an old moog sweeping

i also used the bass emulator, that is actually
my guitar, to get that old school thrummm sounding
nasty, funky bass line

building this type of loop, is very quick, i usually
have something i like in under an hour, and print
the mp3 with a flick of the mouse...

fast and slow...

great fun, then I
automated the fade ins
and the pans...

yeah it's all experimental

I'm mastering looping with the v20
it does a funny thing with the
time, it likes to stretch the loop...

once you get on to the fact
that it's multiples of 8 i'm
making loops that are 16s and
it's working well...

so for this tune I have the
instruments in e flat with
the drop d flat

so it sounds dramatic, and ominous

with arpeggios in the back

i know its crazy, but i'm
having fun

Tweeple seem to like this one...

Notes: EQd the drums, and they
pop and stick nice...

Key of B to take advantage
of the huge low end on my
Brice 6 string bass...

Took advantage of the write function
on the v20 to automate panning of the
lead guitar...turned out nice...

I started with some arpeggiation,
on my 6 string Brice bass guitar,
then added a simple arp loop with
my 64 SG...

Then some super simple leads, that
I automated to pan...

dash of eq, dash of delay

I really like how the harmonies
kinda pop out on their own...

I find it very soothing, and
I looped it...very nice

This is the start...

May the journey never end...

humbucker loaded for
freakin bear...

It's the bomb for recording,

I'm getting my chops down in the studio,
I took some video training from cakewalk,
and I learned a couple things...

It's always great to watch a professional
band lay down a couple tracks and mix em
down on the spot, you get a whole new feel
for how they like to hear different parts
sit in the mix...

The automation feature is awesome, it really
allows you to blend parts in, and the fades
sound really seamless...

So the goal is to write 11 new songs and
record them...

See if I can get an album up on
itunes...

Things are lookin up with the new studio,
and I'm pumped about the growth I've seen
in my playing and phrasing, legato and tappin...

We had lots of dancers to this one!

Blue Lightning is like a wounded grizzly backed into a corner, a very dangerous band...me and diamond doug continue to experiment, and
record the blues rock that we love, this is a slide track from the esteban accoustic with some virtual amp tone trickery on top.

I also recorded the drum and bass parts, as well.

We hope you enjoy the tune and have as much fun and exuberance that we
had when we recorded it.
